In the clip taken from a television interview dating back to 2018, Khalil said that Suhair al-Babli is a “great and wonderful woman”, but the relationship between them did not last because of his character, as he described it.
The late Egyptian actor explained: “We got married in a moment without a long love story, and we separated while we were friends.”
Khalil told the scenes of his first meeting with Suhair al-Babli, saying: “We met at work and she dealt with me sharply, but I did not accept,” referring to an argument that erupted between them, but they married after the end of the work.
He explained, “She was a star and I was a young actor. I wanted her to constantly feel like I was the man.”
She married Suhair Al-Babli 5 times, the first before she completed 16 years old, to Mahmoud Al-Naqouri, from whom she gave birth to her only daughter, Nevin. Shortly after her divorce, she married the composer Munir Murad, the brother of the singer Laila Murad, before she was linked to Khalil.
The late actor, who later married a German woman, always referred to Suhair al-Babli as “the love of his life”, and that they were friends even after the separation.
Suhair Al-Babli died on Sunday at the age of 86, after a struggle with illness, and she had been transferred to a hospital after suffering health complications.
As for Khalil, he died on Tuesday at the age of 80, as a result of complications he suffered after contracting the Corona virus.
