A teacher sent a sexual video to more than 200 students at Ginn Acedemy, an all-boys public school located in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Local authorities are moving forward with investigations.
According to a local police report, quoted by the media outlet ‘Fox 8’, between four and five videos were sent in which the teacher appeared with her partner, but the teacher assures that she did not broadcast them.
For now, the teacher was suspended from the classroom on leave while the authorities carry out the necessary investigations by the Cleveland Police Sex Crimes Unit.
“The teacher has been removed from the building and is not working with the students pending the outcome of an investigation.”, said a statement issued by the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
On the other hand, the Cleveland Teachers Union spoke about it saying: “Our collective bargaining agreement with the district provides a process that protects our members, the district, and students when allegations involving members are made. We will work with our member and district through this process”.

The president of the union, Shari Obrenski, expressed: “I cannot comment on a specific case. I can say that we have contractual processes in place to protect students, our district, and our members when there are cases of allegations against a member.”.
The parents who were interviewed by ‘Fox 8’ were dissatisfied saying that they were trying to be a role model and an authority figure for their children, but that this situation contradicted the education they gave their children.
When the teacher gave her version of the events, she said that the content was on her personal cell phone, but that she has no knowledge of how it could have reached her students’ cell phones.
To date, the school system has not filed any charges or disciplinary measures against this case, other than the suspension of the teacher.
The police report indicates that the material could have been sent through ‘AirDrop’, a function that Apple-brand mobile phones have with which images and videos can be sent with just one touch. In this way, the teacher may have sent the content without realizing it.

However, ‘The Washington Post’ obtained information from a cybersecurity expert who explained that there was a possibility that the cell phone had been hacked.
“If someone had access to the phone, it’s pretty easy to capture someone’s passcode. If someone has bad intentions, the first thing they’ll do when they have access to your phone is check your pictures, see if you have a private folder and see what’s in there”, he explained.
