Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) reported that it is investigating the causes of the gas leak at the Deer Park refinery in Texas, which left two dead and 35 injured, so it asked not to speculate.
Víctor Rodríguez Padilla, general director of the state oil company, confirmed the balance and said that the victims are American nationals, employees of a maintenance company.

“Let’s remember that there are no Pemex personnel, well the director, those responsible for the refinery are Mexican, but the personnel are personnel from the United States,” he said.
During the morning of President Claudia Sheinbaum, she added that, by protocol, four plants are stopped. Luz Elena González Escobar, Secretary of Energy, said that environmental and Harris County authorities have already confirmed that there are no major risks.
