They intern a minor under 15 years of age for stabbing a young man in Torre Pacheco

A 15-year-old teenager will enter a juvenile center -in a closed regime- accused of the stabbing last Sunday of a 23-year-old in Torre Pacheco, according to judicial sources. The head of the Juvenile Court number 2 of Murcia imposed this measure on the minor, who, given the seriousness of the injuries suffered by the victim, faces an alleged crime of attempted murder.

The magistrate considers that, according to the data collected in the police report, there are indications that the adolescent used a knife to stab the young man in the abdomen after a fight. The judge considers “a containment measure is precise and necessary that allows the minor to be provided with clear limits, makes him understand the seriousness of his behavior and facilitates the exercise of adequate control over him” while the case is being investigated.

“Lack of Containment”

The Juvenile Judge, endorsing the arguments put forward by the Prosecutor’s Office, understands that the defendant’s internment in a closed regime center is justified “by the situation of lack of containment offered by the minor’s family environment and the presumed participation of the same in other criminal acts, which make it presumable the need to establish a pause in his life to allow an educational reflection that allows a more effective educational intervention in the future.

The magistrate also highlights the need to “prevent the minor from eluding the action of justice in response to the serious judicial measure that may be imposed on him at the time of being convicted of these acts.” The attack occurred last Sunday in Torre Pacheco. The relatives of the affected alerted the emergency services, who traveled to the scene to attend to the young man. The victim was admitted with serious injuries to the Los Arcos hospital, according to emergency sources.
