The Civil Guard intercepted a truck driver who was quadrupling the permitted level of alcohol when he was behind the wheel of a large tonnage vehicle. The worker was driving along the RM-19 motorway, which connects San Javier with Murcia, when a Benemérita patrol asked him to submit to tests for the detection of substances.
The driver showed a result of 0.65 and 0.66 milligrams of alcohol per liter of expired air in the breathalyzer tests, exceeding the maximum rate allowed by more than four times, which in the case of professional drivers is 0. 15mg/litre.
The truck driver had just loaded vegetables in Torre Pacheco and was on his way to San Cayetano to make a second load to complete the trailer, and later, go to Switzerland to unload it. Proceedings were instructed on the man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety, for driving exceeding the established regulatory rates for alcoholic beverages.
The investigated was made available to the Court of Instruction of San Javier, along with the proceedings instructed, for the celebration of the corresponding trial by the procedure of rapid prosecution of certain crimes. Up to the checkpoint, another driver from the same company had to travel to take charge of the vehicle and the merchandise.
