Maritime Rescue and Civil Guard intercepted this weekend in the waters of Cartagena and Águilas a total of 18 boats in which 209 immigrants from Algeria were travelling, according to sources from the Government Delegation.
The rescued people were in good health and were transferred to the Escombreras dock in Cartagena, after being treated by the Red Cross.
Specifically, this Saturday 16 boats were intercepted with 152 men, 10 women and 14 minors, who were handed over to the National Police, according to the protocol of action before the arrival of immigrants.
For its part, this Sunday 31 people traveling aboard two small boats were rescued.
