Another fifty municipal buildings already have this basic life support
The Lorca City Council will install 27 defibrillators this month in public schools. It was announced this Wednesday by the mayor, Diego José Mateos, at the José Robles Infant and Primary Center, where he supervised the placement of this basic life support at the entrance to the center.
He explained that the objective is for schools to become cardio-protected spaces and provide greater security for students and teaching staff. It is planned that the municipal staff of Emergencies give training courses so that teachers learn to use the devices.
He remarked that “having this type of instrument can help save lives in the event of a health emergency and being able to quickly and effectively treat sudden cardiac arrest”.
The investment in the latest generation defibrillators that will be distributed this month in schools has been 30,000 euros and so far the City Council has invested some 100,000 euros in the acquisition of the devices that are already available in another fifty municipal buildings.
He cited among them the Popular University, the Municipal School of Music, the Ifelor fairgrounds, the Guevara palace, the castle, the archaeological museum and the Local Development Center.
They also have them in sports facilities and police stations. He explained that the Local Police agents have eight mobile defibrillators.
