After a year of the tragedy in a rehabilitation center against addictions in the community of Arandas, on Irapuato, an approximate of 20 annexes they have closed their doors because most were not regularized.
The municipal president of Irapuato, Ricardo Ortiz, explained that some are given authorization to handle themselves in a conditional manner and support is given so that they continue to function at those who are supervised and are working correctly with adequate protocols, action frameworks and situations in accordance with what the inmates require, although the most difficult thing to obtain is the permission of land use.
He said that there are between 12 or 14 rehabilitation centers that are operating under these guidelines and an undetermined number of them that still do not have any type of permissions.
“There were a large number of annexes, many of them have practically closed for not complying with the requirements that are being requested, a program for the regularization of annexes was started, at this moment there are already several that have been regularizing, which partially have a good deal of the requirements, ”he said.
He commented that some have been closed by the municipality because they did not have any suitable condition while others have voluntarily closed their doors.
And he said that one of the problems that they detected is that there were some annexes that one day had an address and the next day they appeared in another colony, since many of them, for decades, managed as a private business and in some other cases they were only used as shelters for people who were in the street.
The mayor commented that if these rehabilitation spaces occupy some type of information or training, they can be provided through the City Council Secretariat.
He assured that before this they proposed to the state government that there be other public spaces such as the CAISES that previously was the Torres Landa Health Center, to treat addictions and that the response was favorable, so it will be attended by the Guanajuato Health Secretariat once rehabilitation and adaptation work has been carried out.
He said that he hopes that this project is completed before the current administration ends, but that already depends on the resources that are taken care of by the state government.
