In the last two days, eight lifeless bodies have been located on the beaches of Alicante, La Manga and San Pedro del Pinatar
Maritime Rescue and Civil Guard troops recovered on Tuesday a new body of a person in the sea, one nautical mile from the Torre de la Horadada beach, in the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada (Alicante), an area frequented by numerous neighbors of the Region of Murcia. It is a male, in an advanced state of decomposition, and who could share features with the seven bodies found in the waters of Alicante and Murcia between Sunday and Monday, of which it is being investigated whether they are part of a group that was traveling on board of a small boat from Algeria that capsized on the high seas.
The discovery occurred after 1:03 p.m., when a group of tourists traveling on a boat located the lifeless body of this person and reported it to the Civil Guard, according to sources familiar with the events.
In this way, it would be the eighth body located in 48 hours: four of them on the beaches of Torrevieja and Pilar de la Horadada and four on the beaches of La Manga and San Pedro del Pinatar, in the Region of Murcia. The investigation focuses on whether they could be part of a group of 16 migrants who were traveling aboard a boat from Algeria and capsized on the high seas.
