The little boy was found by a passerby who heard his crying
The German city of Oldenburg, with 170,000 inhabitants located in the northwest of the country, has experienced a small miracle this week. Joe, an eight-year-old boy, was found last Saturday in a sewer after being missing for eight days. The most likely option that the researchers are considering, as they explained in a statement, is that the little boy entered a drain near his house while he was playing and, as he progressed through the pipes, he lost his orientation.
The little boy, named Joe, was found almost 300 meters from his house, completely naked and with symptoms of dehydration and hypothermia, for which he was taken to the hospital. No details of his health status have been released at this time.
After the discovery, a specialized company inspected the area with robots that found several garments of the minor. In his harrowing journey, Joe was able to stand up in some areas due to the size of the pipes, although some other areas barely exceeded 60 centimeters in diameter. A passerby raised the alarm when he heard something like a whimper coming from underground. The agents lifted the cover of the sewer and there they found the minor.
They were eight days of anguished search. The little boy disappeared on June 17, according to CNN. The Police mobilized hundreds of agents and several volunteers also joined the tasks. Police authorities have called the rescue “absolute luck.” For now, it has been ruled out that third parties were involved
