Mexico City.– A group of protesters protested this morning at the headquarters of the Union of Workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (STPJF), to demand the resignation of its leader, Gilberto González Pimentel.
Led by Patricia Aguayo Bernal, spokesperson for the workers’ movement, more than a hundred protesters demanded that the general secretary of the union not negotiate “in the dark” the secondary laws of the judicial reform with Morena legislators.
One of the claims they made is that just last week the union leader asked the Senate to cancel an internal rule of the Federal Judiciary Council (CJF), which since 2015 allows judges to dismiss the personnel under their command without a legal procedure. previous. “He has not made a clear defense of his colleagues, he has allowed the application of that precept and now he wants to bring it down by selling us out and not truly defending our labor benefits,” said Aguayo, outside the union headquarters.
“That is why we are here, demanding its immediate separation, because in the absence of compliance with its only obligation, which is to defend all its members, the entire working base of the PJF, it has ceased to comply with its objectives and purposes of according to the statutes of our union.”
The workers signed a letter with a list of requests to González Pimentel in which, among other things, they asked him to refrain from making agreements or agreements with the political movement and the Morena legislators, on the secondary laws of the reform. “With the understanding that, if our request is not met, the active-based workers who are part of the union will immediately proceed to initiate or manage the legal procedures for their immediate removal, as general secretary,” the text says. In the letter, they demand that he report what his intervention has been in the preparation of the secondary laws of the reform, since last week the union leader said in a statement that he had met with senators from Morena and the Green Party for these purposes. . They also request that, if you insist on attending the meetings whose objective is to issue the secondary regulations, a commission of workers from the “32 Circuits” movement and representatives of the PJF buildings in Mexico City be present. For his part, Carlos Ávila, another of the spokespersons for the jurisdictional staff, asked the political actors not to negotiate any regulatory standards with the STPJF leader, because he does not represent the workers. “Instead he hides like the scoundrel he is and negotiates in the dark with the ruling party the supposed secondary laws to the misnamed judicial reform. Today, as worthy workers of the PJF and as members of the judicial career, we publicly denounce Gilberto Pimentel and We publicly declare that he does not represent us,” he said. “I call on the political actors who negotiate with him today, that these agreements, those negotiations, are invalid, he does not represent the working base of the PJF… We call on the political actors to stop negotiating with that character.”
