Sources of the investigation led by the Civil Guard confirm that it is the young woman’s body and consider it “unlikely” that it would go unnoticed, as it is an area combed by the battered
Sources from the investigation of the case of Esther López confirmed this Saturday that the body located in the morning in the Valladolid town of Traspinedo is that of the young woman who has disappeared since January 12. A passer-by alerted the Civil Guard of the discovery of human remains corresponding to a woman, which were found on a farmland in the Carrascosa payment, next to the intersection of the access road to Traspinedo and the old Ariza railway line , as confirmed by ‘El Norte de Castilla’.
While awaiting the result of the autopsy, the head of the Valladolid Civil Guard Command, Miguel Recio, already announced that it was “compatible in a very high percentage with the body of the disappeared Esther López.” He did so during her appearance at a press conference with the Government delegate in Castilla y León, Virginia Barcones.
Both, accompanied by the sub-delegate of the Government in Valladolid, Emilio Álvarez, went first to the home of the 35-year-old woman’s family to inform the parents, who were devastated by the news.
The researchers are considering the idea that Esther’s body has been placed on the farmland in the last few hours, as it is a passageway near the access road to the town. In addition, she was already combed during the raids carried out by volunteers and residents of the town coordinated by the Civil Guard without any remains being found at that time. “It is unlikely that her body went unnoticed in this place during the hunt, although nothing is impossible,” Recio pointed out.
“The facts will be clarified”
Around 10:30 am this Saturday, a police control device was set up in an area where investigators from the Armed Institute had been working all morning. To do this, they diverted the large number of vehicles trying to access Traspinedo along a dirt road.
The body of the young woman was found about 300 meters from some chalets, in a planted area and a short distance from a pine forest. The device deployed in the environment was waiting for the removal of the body to be transferred to Valladolid and there to be subjected to the official autopsy.
“We have to preserve the investigation and let the Civil Guard work,” said Virginia Barcones. «The best professional teams and materials are guaranteed to solve this case; I have the most absolute confidence that the facts will be clarified”, remarked the government delegate.
