Although the series of The Last of Us from HBO starred Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, part of the cast of the Naughty Dog production had some type of participation in the television adaptation. In this way, the same is expected to happen in the second season, since it has been announced what role Jeffrey Wright, who gave life to Isaac in the 2020 sequel, will take.
According to Variety, Wright will have the opportunity to reprise the role of Isaac in the second season of The Last of Us. Thus, the same actor who was used for the game will once again give life to the same character in the HBO series. This is Isaac’s description:
“The powerful leader of a large militia group who sought freedom, but instead has found himself caught in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.”
In The Last of Us Part II, Isaac is the leader of WOLF, the organization to which Abby belongs, and is in constant conflict with the Seraphites.. In the game, there are only two moments where we can interact with this character, so it will be interesting to see if the series manages to expand his role, especially considering the opportunity that having Jeffrey Wright on stage represents.
In addition to Wright, the second season of The Last of Us will feature the talent of Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced in the role of Dina, Young Mazino will take on the role of Jesse, Ariela Barer will be Mel, Tati Gabrielle will play Nora, Spencer Lord is in charge of Owen, and Danny Ramirez will be Manny. Catherine O’Hara will also have a role in this adaptation, although there are no specific details at the moment.
Now we just have to wait for more information, as the release date of the second season, will be available in the future. On related topics, Pedro Pascal has already finished recording his scenes for the new season. Likewise, this is the first official look at the new chapters of the series.
Author’s Note:
Jeffrey Wright is a great actor, and was recently nominated for an Oscar for American Fiction. If anyone from the games should reprise his role for the series, it clearly had to be Wright. I can’t wait to see if his character expands in this production, especially considering his role in the story.
