The City Council advances in the removal of weeds near the Arsenal and in José María Lapuerta; It will also act in Quarries and other areas
The Cartagena City Council is carrying out clearing works in the urban sections of the Ramblas, both in the city and in the neighborhoods and county councils. The objective is to avoid flooding in case of torrential rains during the last weeks of summer and throughout the fall. Workers from the Department of Infrastructures are carrying out weed removal tasks in the Benipila promenade, at the height of the Military Arsenal; on Pajarita Street, in the José María Lapuerta neighborhood; and on the Siphon Road.
According to municipal sources reported yesterday, the forecast is to have the Benipila channel cleared throughout today, once it has acted on a section of almost three and a half kilometers. Next, the employees will begin to clean up the Rambla de Canteras, from the old Naval hospital to the junction with the RM-332 road, in front of the Kia dealership. In this case, the works reach about 760 meters in length.
Next, the brigades will perform in other boulevards. To do this, they are using the Municipal Mobile Park’s own means, such as brush cutters, shovels and trucks. In the Consistory they recalled that at the end of July, the Department cleaned the section of the Rambla de Benipila as it passed through Nueva Cartagena, along 370 meters.
These tasks must be complemented with those corresponding to the sections of public waterway that are the responsibility of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS).
