They arrest the suspect of sexually assaulting a young woman in Cieza

The Cieza Local Police arrested a man at dawn this Sunday for an alleged crime of sexual assault on a young woman that would have occurred within a family clan in a house in the San José Obrero neighborhood of the town.

The events occurred after three in the morning, when several citizens called 112 alerting that an altercation was taking place in a house on Abarán Avenue, since loud shouts could be heard from outside. When the agents arrived, they found that the fight had started because the suspect, about 55 years old, had allegedly sexually assaulted a 25-year-old girl in the doorway of her house after he had followed her down the street until he reached her. .

Before the young woman’s cries for help, her husband immediately came, who was sleeping inside the house, in addition to other relatives, who got into a fight with the alleged perpetrator, even when he was already detained aboard the patrol car.

According to eyewitnesses, during the fight there were moments of great tension and aggression, as a result of which several people had to be treated by two ambulances that traveled to the scene, including the detainee himself and his victim.

Precisely, Cieza is the municipality of the Region where an increase in crimes related to sexual assaults has been detected, contrasting with the regional average, where they have been decreasing, according to sources from the Ministry of the Interior. Only during the past month, there were two episodes, one of them in a group towards a woman of about 50 years, in addition to a third in which the victim was a minor who suffered touching in the area of ​​the carousels of the fairgrounds.
