They arrest a student leader who has been in college for 33 years, without graduating

Max Mendozaa popular man who has spent 33 years in a college from Boliviawho has studied various careers without graduating from any of them, was arrested by the authorities accused of various crimes.

Max Mendoza entered the college in 1989 and since then he has gone from career to career without graduating from any, despite this, he was elected to be the president of the Bolivian University Confederation (CUB) in 2018.

Being the president of CUB makes him one of the main authorities of the Executive Committee of the Bolivian University (CEUB), a constitutional body in charge of ensuring the programming, coordination and execution of the plans drawn up for the Bolivian university system and that has direct financing from the General Treasury of the Nation.

As president of the confederation, for more than 4 years, he received a salary of 21,800 bolivianos per month, that is, approximately 63,000 Mexican pesos, although he did not meet the requirements to hold the position since at least he had to be graduate.

According to the Bolivian authorities, Max Mendoza should have held the post for only 30 days, he has already been appointed interim secretary of the CEUBHowever, he extended charges irregularly and committed crimes for his personal benefit.

On May 21, he was arrested in the city of Cochabamba, for the crimes of embezzlement, improper use of influence, benefits due to the position, usurpation of functions, contracts harmful to the State, contributions and illegitimate benefits of the public servant, as well as improper use of public goods and services.

For his part, Héctor Arce, deputy of the party Movement Towards Socialism (MAS), told local media that they will also investigate him on suspicion of human trafficking, since Mendoza made trips abroad with folkloric groups and that some people from those delegations no longer returned to the country.
