The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia carried out operation 'Zelazo' in the municipalities of Mazarrón and Cartagena, an investigation that arose from an anti-drug device in which they identified a fugitive from justice in Poland, who was subject to a European arrest warrant. arrest and surrender (OEDE) issued by the Polish judicial authorities.
At the end of last year, Benemérita Citizen Security Prevention officers concluded the investigation carried out in Cartagena and Mazarrón to pursue the illicit cultivation of marijuana and its subsequent trafficking.
Apparently, one of those arrested in the operation was a Polish citizen who was charged with the crimes of drug cultivation, production and trafficking, electricity fraud and membership in a criminal group.
Although the operation was closed, thanks to international police collaboration mechanisms, they verified that there was a European arrest and surrender order issued by the Polish judicial authorities for the person involved, for a pending sentence also for drug trafficking.
The investigators got back on track and opened the operation based on the OEDE, with the aim of locating him, arresting him and putting him at the disposal of the competent judicial authorities. The first steps of the operation took the Benemérita investigators to Cartagena, where the individual was scheduled to appear. Finally, the detainee, along with the proceedings carried out, was placed at the disposal of the Central Investigative Court of the National Court, in Madrid.
