A man was arrested in Florida, United States, after allegedly suffocated a 10-year-old boy that he had fought with his son with a water gun, the police announced.
The man was identified as Robert Sandy, 60 years old, who is accused of grabbing the child by the neck and shaking him until he was unable to breathe.
They indicated that the man allegedly knew the child victim,who at that time was playing with his 8-year-old son.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 6:00 p.m., in Gwen Margolis Park, in Sunny Isles Beach (Florida), about 32 kilometers north of Miami.
It was said that it was the father of the 10-year-old boy who notified the policeafter his son told him what happened, according to WPLG, an ABC affiliate.
Upon arrival, the agents noticed that the child had red marks and scratches on his neck, so they detained the father of the 8-year-old boy.
Authorities mentioned that the children had a enmity since they were very young and that they had recently fought on Monday, before Marcu intervened.
The father was charged with serious crimes of child abuse with aggravated circumstances and assault by strangulation and for now remains in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility in Miami and will have to pay a bail of 5 thousand dollars.
