Mexico.- The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, confirmed that 138 people are evacuated to Mexico from Romania, after they successfully escaped from Ukraine.
“Already en route to Mexico the FAM flight with 138 people. The rescue operation instructed by President López Obrador is being carried out. Families who were at risk of the bombing of Kiev will soon be in CDMX. Thank you SEDENA and the Mexican embassies in Kiev and Bucharest!” he tweeted Marcelo Ebrard on March 03, 2022.
This tweet was posted 8 hours after photos and videos were shared of the moments when the Mexicans and their relatives were at the airport in Bucharest, Romania, waiting for their turn to leave the country.
It should be noted that the flight will have three stops before arriving in Mexico, one in Ireland and two in Canada, to finally land at the Mexico City airport.
The 44 Mexicans traveling by plane to Mexico were sheltered in Romania, after being successfully removed from Ukrainecountry that is invaded by Russia.

Robert Linares, from Mexico City, is one of the nationals on the plane. He travels with his Ukrainian wife and his three-year-old daughter, but leaves his entire in-laws behind in Ukraine to fight Russian forces.

“I’m relieved that I’m here now, I’m safe and I have family waiting for me,” he said.
“I hope that better times will come, I have the idea that if we continue building we will return, when all this is over I want to return to Ukraine and help the city that gave me so much to rebuild it”.
