The effects of DANA continue, which has caused havoc especially in the province of Valencia, where at least 92 people have died. The Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has launched a new warning this Thursday, especially to the provinces of Tarragona and Castellón, and has raised the alert in the latter due to “extreme risk”. They ask not to travel unless it is strictly necessary due to the heavy rains that persist in the area. These are the roads that are still closed due to the storm at this time, according to the General Directorate of Traffic, which updates all the information on its website:

In Valencia

The DGT continues to ask through its official communication channels that travel within the province of Valencia be avoided as much as possible, with a good part of its main roads affected by the latest floods, with cars piled up and destruction on the roads and surrounding areas. In addition, Traffic has explicitly requested not to travel to this province for the bridge.

“The recommendation is that they do not try to enter or leave because they are making our priority tasks difficult,” said the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, at a press conference this Thursday.

These are the roads most affected by cuts:

  • A-3 in Chiva and Sant Josep neighborhood
  • A-7 in Carrascalet. The A-7 is affected in several points: also in L’Alcudia, Picassent, Montortal and Benifaio
  • N-3 in Villar de Olmos, Utiel and Siete Aguas
  • V-30, V-31 and CV-36 in Horno de Alcedo
  • V-31 in Chair
  • CV-33 in Torrent
  • CV-50 in Chiva, Turis, Vilamarxant and Llombai
  • CV-35 in Cruz de Gracia
  • AP-7 in Oliva

The DGT recommends not traveling on the road in this region, in the province of Castellón, the southern area of ​​Tarragona and the western area of ​​Cádiz.

In Castellón

The AEMET has raised the alert level this Thursday for Castellón and has warned that “DANA continues”, with this province at red level due to “extreme risk”. At the moment, the A-23 is closed near Barrancas, although there could be more cuts throughout the day.

  • There are also affected sections on other roads: total cut in both directions on the CV-130 from kilometer 4 in Albocasser to kilometer 8 in Trig
  • The CV-1486 is also flooded and traffic is interrupted at kilometer 0 in Borseral.

In Cuenca and Albacete

  • In Cuenca, the A-3 remains closed in all sections, in the direction of Valencia, at the height of Atalaya del Cañavete and as it passes through Minglanilla.
  • In Cuenca, the A-35 in Almansa

Other roads affected

  • Teruel: the A-23 in Teruel capital
  • Zaragoza: the A-2 in Ariza
  • Granada: the A-92N in Venta del Peral
  • Cádiz: the AP-4 in Guadalcacín

Regarding other transport such as the train, Minister Óscar Puente has indicated that, as for the railway, part of the High Speed ​​tunnel between Madrid and Valencia “has disappeared”, so this circulation will not be resumed until, at least, “ two or three weeks.”
