The Ministry of Health has published a series of recommendations for the population and volunteers who are currently in the Valencian Community helping, helping or trying to return to their homes.
During cleaning tasks and returning home, there is a risk of ingesting contaminated water or food or inhaling different pathogens that can lead to infectious processes such as gastroenteritis or pneumonia. Cleaning recommendations

Feeding recommendations
- Water consumption: Follow the recommendations of local entities in this regard. If there is any doubt, use bottled water if available.
- Discard wet foods that cannot be cleaned and dried in less than 48 hours. Furthermore, in the case of abundant mold, cleaning must be carried out with protection of the nose, mouth, eyes and hands, using a mask, eye protector and gloves.
- Do not consume any food that has been in contact with flood waterexcept canned goods, which must be dried and left for an hour before opening or storing; In any case, the instructions on the packaging will be followed.
- Keep garbage and organic waste separated from human contact and other objects.
Security recommendations
- Disconnect electricity and gas to avoid fires, electrocutions or explosions.
- Do not use combustion devices. Generators used must be more than 5 meters away from doors, windows or ventilation grills.
- If using a pressure washerensure that the motor is outside and at least 5 meters away from doors, windows or ventilation grills.
- Do not start vehicles inside closed garageseven if the door is open, to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
Corpses
In the case of finding corpses:
- Humans: Do not touch and call the authorities.
- Animals: Do not touch, if possible, and follow the instructions of each municipality in this regard.
