The Minister of Education of the Nation, Nicolás Trotta, affirmed this Thursday that “the conditions are in place to return to the presence” in the classrooms, with the “strict compliance with all the protocols” drawn up by the health authorities.
“We made the decision and we are convinced that what our boys need is to be present. The school must once again be the organizer of our educational system, “said Trotta during a visit to Corrientes.
The minister held a press conference with the governor of the province, Gustavo Valdés, and other provincial authorities.
He said that the return to the classroom “is the way to recover the learning that was truncated last year”, but clarified that “the decision of the presence and the way” in which the classes will be developed will depend on the decision of each governor.
“There must be presence in all schools. We must see and evaluate with what level of intensity each jurisdiction in the country will do it, “said the head of the educational portfolio, who stated that there are 14 districts that will begin their school cycles on March 1.
“We are aware that we have to maximize this return with the commitment of each and everyone, and from the improvement of the epidemiological indicators. Of course we will achieve it from the decision of our government to prioritize the vaccination of our teachers “, stressed the official.
Trotta held a working day in Corrientes with Governor Valdés, the province’s Minister of Education, Susana Benítez; and representatives of teachers’ unions.
Previously, he held a meeting with mayors, deputies and national and provincial senators from Corrientes.
} The national official stressed that immunization “It is not an essential condition for returning to the classroom“, although in any case,” teachers were placed as a priority group for the application of vaccines. “
Trotta’s statement comes on the same day that the City of Buenos Aires announced the staggered return schedule to the classrooms from February 17.
Then, in a ceremony held at the Government House as a conclusion to the working day in Corrientes, Trotta signed with Valdés an act of initiation of the expansion and refurbishment of a technical school for port constructions and waterways.
