Sinaloa.- The human papilloma virus (HPV) It is the leading cause of cervical cancer in women. For this reason, thanks to the strong prevention campaigns that are carried out in order to prevent women from suffering from this type of disease, currently there are no registered cases regarding the Évora regionaccording to data obtained by the Sanitary Jurisdiction III.
Every March 4th, International Cancer Awareness Day is commemorated. Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)in honor of all those people who suffer or suffered from this type of disease.
The human papilloma virus is a sexually transmitted disease. in which normal cells multiply rapidly, capable of forming tumors and invading other tissues, according to the head of the III Sanitary Jurisdiction, Patricio Cuadras López.

“This virus causes a constant injury, generating changes in the cervix, which over the years evolves into cancer if not treated in time,” he explained.
“Fortunately, as far as the records of this Jurisdiction are concerned, there are currently no cases of HPV. We bet a lot on prevention and vigilance”, he said.
The most affected age group corresponds to the range between 25 to 64 years of age, in men and women. Ariana Yareli Montes Rojo, director of the Mocorito Health Center, indicated that in most cases the carriers of the virus are usually men, although the greatest affectation is reflected in women.
“One aspect to consider is that you can have the virus and not show up for 10 or 20 years, that’s why it’s important to get tested,” said Montes Rojo.
Patricio Cuadras exhorted the population to attend any of these studies: cervical cytology, known as papanicolaou, is performed on women between 25 and 34 years of age, as well as the human papillomavirus detection test is performed on 35 to 64 years, and liquid-based cytology.

“The cytology and the HPV test are free at your nearest health unit,” he mentioned.
