In Mexico There are more than 200 groups, mostly made up of women who are looking for their sons and daughters who disappeared and are not located. Since 1962 to date there are more than 112 thousand unlocated people in the country. On Mother’s Day, the absence of thousands and the pain of many mothers was evident in different ways.
In the Mexico Citya mega march was recorded that culminated in the National Palace with hundreds of mothers and families in general who expressed the absence of a family member. In Sinaloa, unfortunately it is already becoming a tradition that every May 10th the searching mothers go out to make their loss visible. For them, this date is not celebrated the same since the absence of their loved one.
Although some authorities denounce these searches or associate them with political activities, the work that these women have done to search on their own, to continue through unidentified terrain, and sometimes put their lives at risk has resulted in more than 1,200 being located. people, who, although not all have been identified, are no longer forgotten; since the tax authorities do not have the support to make the routes that they do.
For the seeking mothers, since they lost their daughter or son, the uncertainty of seeing or finding them again does not end. And because the disappearance of people is not reducing, the number of women looking for mothers is not going to stop. According to civil association Mexicans against Corruption, 16 people disappear on average every day.
