A total of 227 people between users and workers of the nursing homes for the elderly in the Region of Murcia are currently affected by coronavirus, reported sources from the Ministry of Health consulted by Europa Press. Thus, the number of positives in these centers has increased by 77 cases compared to this Monday, when about 150 were counted.
Specifically, they are twelve the residences with some positive. Some of them are in Santomera, Murcia, San Pedro del Pinatar, Archena, Villanueva del Río Segura, Lorca and Cartagena. In Amavir, located in the latter city, there are 72 active cases this Tuesday, compared to the 49 registered yesterday. Last Saturday, five of the positives from this residence were transferred to the El Rosell hospital.
Outbreak in the Santa Lucía hospital in Cartagena
As explained this Wednesday by the technical spokesperson of the Covid-19 Committee, Jaime Pérez, the outbreak detected in the Santa Lucía hospital, in Cartagena, already affects five people, four of them workers, and forced to save quarantine to a total of 19. On the other hand, at La Caridad hospital, also in Cartagena, there are currently some 47 positives.
