At least 20 people dead, five missing and towns in 69 municipalities cut off is the toll left by the passage of Hurricane “John” through Guerrero last week.

Abel Barrera, director of the Mountain Human Rights Center, Tlachinollan, called on the authorities to help indigenous families in the majority of the 20 municipalities in that region that suffered the onslaught of the meteor. “People lack food, medicine, and medical brigades. This region is always forgotten and its problems increase when hydrometeorological phenomena occur,” he warned. For its part, the National Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Services (Canaco-Servitur) reported the shortage of LP Gas in Acapulco and estimated the economic damages at 2.8 billion pesos.
