Theater Takomon Two Skinny Hare is a topical presentation on the price of art.

“I want money from my work, ”says an actor from the Two Brown children theater group Minna Puolannon in a comedy written by Two skinny brownies. Quite a matter of course for most, but not many, artists.

Minna Puolannon, Irina Pulkan and Nelly Juulia Kärkkäinen The performance conceived by Theater Takomo hits the vein of topicality a little unintentionally due to the cuts that overshadow the cultural field.

Always topical again is the discipline of two middle-aged actresses. No one is interested anymore, even though there are 3,000 performances behind them and a Jussi statue in the armpit 23 years ago.

Two skinny brownies is a bitter comedy about artistry and its heavy boundary conditions. It tells about the fall concretely and figuratively and asks what the price of art is. At the same time, it describes a hardening working life in general with its branding requirements, whatever the industry.

To the end the performance breaks away in favor of realism. Video clips that have already become clichés on theater stages are used in storytelling to subtly reflect the artist’s creativity and longing for freedom.

While the money isn’t enough for cat food, Rusakas, who keeps his office in the furnace of a pulsating turbine power plant, doesn’t bother with self-pity. Screenwriter Puolanto looks at his characters with gentle irony.

As the new marketing strategy begins to work out, only Tok Tok and hip hop will be confused by the Rusakas who fell from the ride of the old age. Completing a grant application on time is a staggering alley run, and the ideation of a monetary presentation is a masterpiece of Polish art.

Different characters complement each other. The role-playing character of the physical and expressive Poland, Vilde, is the Brainstorming Ideas and Primus motor, Pulka’s character is more internally portrayed and more pessimistic, Olga.

The plot of the performance, which includes intermittent idling, progresses towards the end with cinematic cuts into a thrilling play, when Rusakot gets the attention he has been longing for – not just in the form he would like.
