The El Casar City Council (Guadalajara) has declared three days of official mourning for the death of a 20-year-old man who was gored this Saturday during the bull run in the countryside held in the town. The accident occurred at 12:53 this Saturday in the El Casar bullring, where some bull runs were being held. The young man was treated in the operating room of the facility and later transferred to the La Paz Hospital in Madrid, where he died at night, according to the mayor of the municipality, José Luis García Lamola.
The City Council “deeply” regrets the “unfortunate” accident that occurred during the bullfighting festivities during the patron saint festivities of El Casar. As a testimony to the “pain” of this town, the mayor, José Luis González Lamola, has declared three days of official mourning during which the flags flying outside municipal buildings will be lowered to half-mast.
In addition, a black crepe will be hung on the flags located inside the municipal buildings as a sign of mourning and all official public events organised by the El Casar Town Hall will be suspended while the official mourning period lasts. The Municipal Corporation, in a statement, expresses its “deepest condolences and sympathy” to the family and friends for the loss of the young man.
