Vaccination will now be mandatory for 80% of employees in the service sector
Since September, infections by covid-19 have been increasing in the whole of Russia and, especially, in Moscow, the territory most affected by its population density. The Slavic country broke the daily mortality record on Tuesday, with 1,015 deaths, of which 73 correspond to the Russian capital, the highest number registered so far in the capital. So its mayor, Sergei Sobianin, has decided to make drastic decisions again.
The Moscow councilor has ordered that those over 60 who have not been vaccinated and who have not contracted the virus or have had the disease for more than six months be confined to their homes again. The measure will be in force between October 25 and February 25, 2022. In this period of time, companies must put 30% of their workforce in a teleworking regime.
Furthermore, vaccination will now be mandatory for 80% of employees in the service sector. At the same time, the Russian government has requested President Vladimir Putin to consider the possibility of declaring holidays every day between October 30 and November 7 in an attempt to slow the progress of the pandemic.
Many other regions of Russia are also being forced to re-establish restrictions, for example, the use of QR codes to access public establishments. They are extended only to those who have been vaccinated, to those who had the disease in the last six months or to those who present a CRP that must be updated every 72 hours.
Russia has been chaining numbers of daily infections above 31,000 positives and deaths around a thousand for a week, despite the fact that it was ahead of the rest of the world in the development of the first vaccine against Covid-10, Sputnik V. Until now, only a third of the population has been vaccinated with the complete regimen due to the mistrust generated by the drug.
