The Witcher: CD Projekt RED confirms the animal of the new medallion

CD Projekt RED has made it known which animal represents the new medallion of The Witcher. In fact, as soon as the image of the feline came out, many began to hypothesize it was the Cat School, while some thought it was a Lynx, a fanmade medallion. And that’s exactly right, the developers confirmed.

The various schools of The Witcher have animals as symbols, and now a new one will be added, as explained by the Polish developers: “Okay, some mysteries shouldn’t be mysterious. I can confirm that the locket is, in fact, a lynx“.

This simple statement published by the Global Communication Director of CD Projekt RED it stopped a whole day of speculation and struggle. The Lynx medallion already exists, but in a fan fiction published in the Wiki dedicated to The Witcher, while now the medallion has a completely different meaning.

We don’t know who this new locket will belong to, and we certainly won’t know for quite a while. Many are starting to speculate that this is Ciri, albeit the developers explained that there will probably be no references to the old chapters, but they want to create a new story without violating too much the rules of the world created by the writer Andrzej Sapkowski. In fact, CD Projekt RED explained that this will be a real new saga.

So, it could also be a new trilogy, as far as we know. We just have to wait for more information from the developers and start speculating from there. Also because it may be that CD Projekt RED makes us create our Witcher, with a character customization taken from Cyberpunk 2077. And this character of ours wears the Lynx medallion, which is something completely new to the world of The Witcher. Who knows, for now we can only wait for official communications from the software house, in the hope that this new title is not the new Cyberpunk 2077.
