A surprise for The Witcher fans.
Originally born as a post-credits surprise for season 2’s The Witcher, Netflix launched the first trailer of The Witcher: Blood Origin to the general public.
“Set in an elven world 1200 years before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin will tell a story lost in time: the origin of the very first Witcher and the events leading to the fundamental ‘conjunction of the spheres’, when the world of monsters, men and elves have merged to become one“reads from the official description.
Sophia Brown is the protagonist and will play Éile, a warrior of the queen’s guard. Another prominent character is Michelle Yeoh’s Scian, “the latest member of a nomadic sword-elf tribe on a mission to recover a stolen blade from his people.” Joining the pair is Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall, “a man born into a clan of warriors who have sworn to protect a king.” Below you can see the video.
Although the show clearly shares some similarities with The Witcher, the time frame gives it its own identity. The Witcher Blood Origin will be available in 2022 but currently there is no precise release date yet.
