CD Projekt RED opened today registrations for the start of the tests on the REDkitor the official tool for creating mods in The Witcher 3: Wild Huntexpected to arrive during the year on a date yet to be defined.
As previously announced, the aim of REDkit is to provide modders with a substantial official tool that allows the creation of more complex mods that are better integrated with the game code, and since it is a rather large piece of software the team has decided to make it the protagonist of a phase of playtest.
If you are interested in participating, registration is open and you can take part by following the instructions at this addressas reported in an update on the official Steam page.
An official editor for mods
The REDkit, once complete, will be distributed free to all users who own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC, with launch expected during 2024 but still without a more precise timing.
The tests will take place in various phases, and once selected we will be able to access “The Witcher 3 REDkit PlayTest” in the Steam library, but requiring the main game to be correctly installed on the PC in order to access the game files.
The beta of will also be launched together with the REDkit Steam Workshopthat is, support for Steam's official mod sharing system, making the integration between the various creation, distribution and sharing options as natural as possible.
