The White House added that the employee spent about 30 minutes ago near President Biden on Air Force One from Orange, South Carolina, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The White House explained that the employee is a restaurant and has received the booster dose of the vaccine, and was also tested negative before boarding the presidential plane, as required for each person traveling with the president. And that he did not feel symptoms until Sunday, to be confirmed that he was infected Monday.
The White House confirmed that others on Air Force One who had close contact with this employee are being contacted and will be advised to take a test as directed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The White House has also confirmed that President Biden is being tested for corona on a regular basis, and as part of this regular testing, Biden’s results were negative Sunday and Monday, and he will be tested again Wednesday.
And the White House added that because CDC guidelines do not require fully vaccinated people to self-quarantine if they come into contact with an infected person, the president will continue his daily schedule.
