The wave of bad weather in Emilia Romagna does not stop: endless floods, two more rivers overflow

The wave of bad weather that has been hitting Italy in recent days, especially Emilia Romagna, is not abating. The Marzeno and Lamone rivers have flooded. Faenza flooded

The night that just passed was a very difficult one, as reported to Sky Tg 24 by the mayor of Faenza, Maximum Island:

“It was a very difficult night with the wait for the passage of the floods of the Lamone and Marzeno rivers. The Lamone river crossed Faenza and today is involving the cities that are between Faenza and Ravenna. In the city of Faenza the banks held and it did not flood and did not involve the historic center as had happened in May 2023”.

Mayor Massimo Isola then observed:

“We had two flooding events in the countryside between Faenza and Ravenna in Salvino and Pieve Cesato. What we were unable to manage this time either was the Marzeno River. A torrential river that flows down from Modigliana, extremely aggressive and with even greater power. It flooded on the right side and involved the Via Cimatti neighborhood that we called the red zone since the first flood.”

Isola also stressed:

“This is a neighborhood that was hit by a meter and a half, two meters of water in which we had to intervene with the Fire Brigade to evacuate about ten people.”

And finally he concluded:

“We had made a complex and important evacuation plan that allowed us to manage this very delicate issue. We immediately organized the Sports Hall, with the Red Cross and a hundred people were there to sleep last night, about ten of them were picked up with the dinghy during the night. There are no citizens in danger”.
