The club makes the incorporation of the Catalan coach official for two seasons
The soap opera of the summer in the world of futsal has come to an end. Javi Rodríguez manages to dissociate himself from Industrias Santa Coloma and is, officially, the new coach of ElPozo Murcia Costa Cálida for the next two seasons. On the morning of this Tuesday, the Catalan club confirmed the termination of the new butcher coach.
After weeks of differences between the new butcher coach and Vicenç García, president and founder of Industrias Santa Coloma, talks have intensified in recent days to resolve the problem once and for all. The case, which went to court, ended with Javi Rodríguez directing Murcia and Xavi Closas, the substitute on the Colomense bench closed weeks ago, as coach of the Nou Pavelló team for all purposes.
Javi Rodríguez Nebreda (1974), known in the world of futsal as “El Mito”, was one of the most outstanding players in the history of Spanish futsal. He was designated as the best player in the world in 2005 and with the Spanish National Team he won the World Cup twice, in addition to four European Championships.
As a technician, he trained in Hungary (Gyor) and Ukraine (Prodexim Kherson) before arriving, in 2019, at Industrias Santa Coloma after the resignation of Óscar Redondo. Now, he faces his first experience in a big club and forced to fight for all the titles such as ElPozo Murcia Costa Cálida.
After the medical examinations, which were carried out this Monday and Tuesday, it will be this Wednesday when the first training session will be held with Javi Rodríguez in charge, accompanied by his “second” in Santa Coloma, Dani Martínez, who will also be a physical trainer of the charcuterie set.
The team will begin its preparation with the additions of Bruno Taffy and Ricardo Mayor, who cover the loss of Mati Rosa and Matteus. The first confirmed friendly of, now, Javi Rodríguez’s team will be on August 16 in Córdoba against Josan González’s team, the Córdoba World Heritage Site.
On the 24th there will be a derby against Jimbee Cartagena, in a pavilion yet to be defined. In September, ElPozo Murcia will play the Ciutat de Palma – Miquel Jaume Memorial together with Palma Futsal, Real Betis and Sporting de Portugal. Finally, on the 13th the charcuterie team will visit Albacete to face the local team, from Segunda B, on the occasion of the festivities in the city of La Mancha.
