The vice president of the Generalitat believes that the interest in Mazón’s food is “a smoke bomb” to “not talk about the situation in Ribera”

The vice president of the Generalitat Valenciana and recently appointed spokesperson for the Consell de Carlos Mazón, Susana Camarero, considers that the interest in the food that kept the leader of the Palau de la Generalitat Valenciana away is used as a “smoke bomb.” The number two of the Valencian Executive defends that sufficient explanations have been given about Mazón’s whereabouts and actions on October 29, DANA day, and considers that this issue is being used to divert attention from “Teresa’s political situation Ribera”, Minister of Ecological Transition and candidate for European Commissioner.

The spokesperson for the regional Executive has appeared to give an account of the actions carried out in relation to DANA, as she has been doing almost daily since last week. The leader has been asked about the dinner with journalist Maribel Vilaplana, which was revealed by President Mazón’s own cabinet, in reference to some statements by the president regarding alleged hoaxes about the appointment and his absence. In parallel, this same Monday the socialist group has requested the invoice for the food as proof that it was produced, despite the fact that the restaurant itself has confirmed that Mazón was there.

The vice president said: “I am surprised again that they ask this question. More than ten days ago this meal was explained, more than ten days ago those hoaxes that came out then were debunked: that he was eating with Zaplana, with the president of the CEV or celebrating the birthday of the councilor Nuria Montes. It was explained where he was, it was explained who he was with, it was shown that he was in communication, that he spoke with mayors, that he was never incommunicado. I ask myself a question in reverse: Why talk about food again? I don’t know if there is anyone who would be interested in treating this food like a smoke bomb and would be interested in more talk about a food that was already explained more than ten days ago than, for example, about the political situation of Teresa Ribera.”

Asked about the request for the invoice that the parliamentary group has made, the vice president indicates that the person responsible will provide an account when it is formalized. The leader, Mazón’s right-hand woman in his most complicated political moment, defends the explanations provided to date, and maintains that the president was communicated and informed during the work meeting. Regarding whether he conveyed any advice or recommendations to the Minister of Justice, Salomé Pradas, who is placed in charge of Cecopi, points out that it was duly constituted with all the bodies, which made decisions in a collegial manner.
