White House: US will allocate more than $1.5 billion to Ukraine
The United States will allocate more than $1.5 billion to Ukraine for the energy sector, humanitarian needs and civil security. About it reports The White house.
Funds for support will be channeled through the Agency for International Development and the State Department. Of these, $500 million will be allocated for the first time and will go to energy; $324 million will be redirected to energy from other funds.
“This funding will rebuild energy infrastructure damaged during war, expand power generation, stimulate private sector investment, and protect energy infrastructure,” the White House said in a statement.
Another 379 million is planned to be used to support refugees and 300 million for Ukrainian border guards and law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced the allocation of financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $225 million.
