NHC: Hurricane Milton’s power drops below 200 kilometers per hour
The power of Hurricane Milton has dropped to third with winds slowing below 200 kilometers per hour, writes RIA Novosti citing data from the US National Hurricane Center (NHC).
“The maximum wind speed is about 120 miles per hour (195 kilometers per hour, — approx. “Tapes.ru”) with stronger gusts,” the NHC said.
However, Milton could still be a major hurricane when it reaches the coast of the US state of Florida.
Earlier, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand, said that the cyclone Milton approaching the American state of Florida risks turning into a disaster. According to the expert, tropical cyclones are one of the most dangerous phenomena in oceanology and meteorology. As a rule, they take a long time to develop, but Milton goes through this process faster and gets stronger literally by the hour, which is extremely rare.
