The authorities of the United States said that those affected by the restrictions will have their assets frozen in the country, their property will be blocked, and they will also be cut off from the financial system. The sanctions lists included the chairman of the board and president of Transneft Nikolai Tokarev, Boris and Arkady Rotenberg, the CEO of Rostec Sergey Chemezov, the chairman of the state development corporation VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov, billionaire Evgeny Prigozhin and the founder of USM Holdings Alisher Usmanov. Earlier, the European Union (EU) introduced a third package of sanctions, 26 Russians were included in the lists, including businessmen, journalists, TV presenters and politicians. The restrictions affected the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, entrepreneurs Alisher Usmanov, Alexei Mordashov, Igor Sechin and others. Sanctions against Usmanov
The US Treasury imposed sanctions on Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov and included his yacht and plane on the list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Usmanov is included in the list in connection with his activities in the technology sector of the Russian economy. This means that any yacht or aircraft related transactions, including maintenance, hiring of personnel or dock fees, conducted with US persons or in US dollars are prohibited.
