The United States decided to prepare a plan in the event of the expulsion of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his work from Poland. This is reported TASS with reference to The Washington Post.
According to sources, the US administration is considering the possibility of Zelensky leading the Ukrainian government “in exile” in Poland.
Western countries are preparing to assist him and are already laying the foundation for the recognition of this structure as the legitimate government of the republic, the interlocutor explained. According to him, the government could direct the operations of the resistance forces, to which the West will continue to supply weapons, against Russian military personnel.
At the same time, the publication notes that Russia can regard “support for the Zelensky government operating in Poland” as an attack from the alliance. The material also says that now the State Department and the Pentagon are considering further actions in the event of a “possible capture of Kyiv by Russia.”
Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky left Ukraine and evacuated to Poland. According to Volodin, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine cannot get into Zelensky’s residence in Lvov.
On Thursday, February 24, Russia launched a military operation to protect Donbass. During the special operation, the Russian authorities “will strive for the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine,” the head of state said. Prior to this, the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics complained to Russian President Vladimir Putin about living conditions.
