Kissinger outlined three possible outcomes of a special military operation in Ukraine
Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in an interview with The Spatator named three possible outcomes of the conflict in Ukraine.
According to him, the first scenario provides that the Russian troops will remain in their positions. The politician said that in this case, Russia “will receive 20 percent” of Ukraine and most of the Donbass, the main industrial and agricultural areas and a strip of land along the Black Sea.” According to Kissinger, such an option would be a victory for the Russian side.
In this case, the role of NATO will not be as decisive as previously thought.
The second scenario assumes that Russia will be “trying to be ousted” from Crimea. The politician believes that in this case “there will be a question of war with Russia itself.”
The third scenario provides that Ukraine will be able to “keep Russia” and the line of confrontation will be “pushed” to the borders before the start of the special operation, which will mean the loss of Moscow. Kissinger noted that in this case, Kyiv would be rearmed, close ties would be established between Ukraine and NATO, or the state would become part of the alliance.
The former US Secretary of State is confident that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky intends to implement the third option. The politician called this scenario a “significant achievement” for Western states. He added that the North Atlantic Alliance will become even stronger with the addition of Finland and Sweden, and Ukraine will have “the largest ground forces in Europe.”
For the first time in recent history, Russia will have to face the need to coexist with Europe as a whole, and not with America as the main link in protecting Europe with its nuclear forces.

Calls for territorial concessions
In May, Kissinger urged Ukraine to make territorial concessions to avoid a clash. He is convinced that the West should stop trying to defeat Russia militarily.
The diplomat said that without the resumption of negotiations between the parties, “shocks will begin” and “tension will be created, which will not be easy to overcome.” Kissinger advised Moscow and Kyiv to return to the previous state of affairs, otherwise a huge hotbed of instability would arise in Europe. He also urged European countries to consider the bigger picture and remember that “Russia has been an integral part of Europe for 400 years.”
The current NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, also admitted the possibility of territorial concessions to Ukraine. He noted that peace in the country is possible, the only question is what it will cost Kyiv.
NATO intends to help Ukraine to give it the strongest position at the negotiating table with Russia, which should end the hostilities
Canadian Liberal Party Senator Ivan Baker explained that Western states are calling on Kyiv to make territorial concessions in favor of Moscow because they are tired of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.

Moscow’s position
According to Federation Council Senator Sergei Tsekov, the likelihood of a conflict between Russia and NATO, including on the territory of the Baltic countries, is quite high today. At the same time, he stressed that he had no doubts about Russia’s victory if confrontation could not be avoided.
The fact that our army is strong should be understood by all NATO countries and try not to provoke Russia. But they constantly provoke, we have been observing this since the beginning of the expansion of the alliance to the east
The politician added that taking into account all the aggressive actions that NATO has been taking lately, the likelihood of a conflict is constantly increasing and at the moment is quite high.
If they continue to provoke us, supply weapons threatening Russia to Ukraine, send their troops into its territory, thus taking part in the conflict, confrontation will not be avoided.
