UN: Secretary General Guterres will take part in the BRICS summit in Kazan on October 22-24
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres will take part in the BRICS summit in Kazan, which is scheduled for October 22-24. This was announced by the head of the information center of an international organization in Russia, Vladimir Kuznetsov, reports TASS.
“I am very pleased to be in Kazan, which in three weeks will host the BRICS summit, where United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will take part as an invited person,” Kuznetsov said.
According to the UN representative, Guterres expects that during the summit “important agreements on international development until 2030” will be reached.
On October 2, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz declared Guterres persona non grata. He said that the Secretary General allegedly openly hates Israel and also “provides support to terrorists and rapists.” The diplomat did not rule out that the head of the world organization allegedly supports the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, as well as Iran and the Yemeni Houthis.
Earlier, Guterres’ representative Stephane Dujarric said that the UN wants an end to the conflict in Ukraine in accordance with international law, General Assembly resolutions and the territorial integrity of Ukrainian territory.
