The Russian military has begun using new tactics to launch missile strikes. This was reported on January 8 by the Ukrainian operator of the FIM-92 Stinger man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) named Roman.
“Right now the Russians are using missiles that release heat traps like airplanes or helicopters, which interferes with the Stinger systems. This has never happened before,” he said in an interview with a French TV channel. TV5 Monde.
The military man also suggested that due to massive missile attacks from the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) may have their ammunition reserves melted, he notes “Gazeta.Ru”.
Earlier on January 8, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian military launched a long-range precision weapon attack on the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine. The group strike was carried out by air- and sea-based weapons, including the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system, the department specified.
Prior to this, on January 6, the German magazine Focus reported that Ukraine is experiencing a serious problem with missiles for air defense systems. It was noted that all this puts Ukraine in a difficult position facing the threat of new massive Russian attacks.
At the same time, British analyst Alexander Merkouris said that there were signs of panic in the European Union after the missile strikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) that were destructive for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were carried out against Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities. He noted that Russia's attacks caused colossal damage to Ukraine's military infrastructure, which the West painstakingly worked to create.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
