Soccer | UCAM CF
Salva Ballesta is already history in the UCAM. The Aragonese coach has not been able to lift a team that has a squad to spare to be in the upper part of the classification and that, however, is fully involved in the war for permanence. Despite having another season on his contract, Ballesta was dismissed yesterday afternoon, one day after drawing against Sanluqueño (1-1) in a match that was key to continue in the First RFEF. Ballesta has led UCAM for 16 games, of which he won only four. 16 points out of a possible 48 that have not been enough for the university board to maintain confidence in a technician who in the winter market was able to reform the azulona squad to suit him.
an old acquaintance
Pedro Reverte already has relief for Ballesta. This is José Manuel Aira, Leonese coach who led Real Murcia for almost two full seasons. Aira, 46, achieved promotion to Segunda with Albacete and also directed teams such as Racing de Ferrol, Cultural Leonesa and Marbella. Aira’s teams are characterized by being intense and seasoned, just what UCAM needs, a team that is six points from salvation.
