His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, received His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the UAE and his accompanying delegation, who is visiting Uzbekistan, in the presence of Dr. Saeed Matar Al Qamzi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Economy conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, Chief of the Presidential Cabinet, and their wishes to the leadership of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its friendly people for further advancement and progress. His Excellency President Shavkat Mirzayev also conveyed his best regards to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, May God protect him, and his wishes for further development and prosperity for the UAE and its people.
The meeting witnessed ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields and economic sectors of mutual interest, especially the new economy, tourism, transportation, entrepreneurship, technology and agriculture. The two sides expressed the importance of developing the existing partnership between the two countries, expanding the horizons of economic cooperation between them and diversifying its fields, in keeping with the strength of relations. The strong ties that bring the two countries together, and meets their development aspirations for the next stage.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq stressed that the UAE-Uzbekistan relations are relations of partnership and cooperation in various fields, and are based on friendship, mutual respect and consideration of common interests, and are supported by the bonds of brotherhood and cultural communication between the Emirati and Uzbek peoples, and the common cultural and Islamic heritage of the two friendly countries.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq said during the meeting: “The UAE looks positively at developing levels of economic cooperation in various fields and activities with the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is a major partner of the UAE in the Central Asian region, and a popular destination for UAE citizens for travel, tourism, study and engaging in economic activities.” The UAE government is also keen to continue working closely with our partners in Uzbekistan to develop cooperation in various sectors that hold promising opportunities for the future.”
The visit of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq and his accompanying delegation to the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, comes within the framework of participation in the “Tashkent International Investment Forum”, and agreement on new action plans with the Uzbek government and the Uzbek business community, aiming to support economic cooperation and push it to more prosperous and advanced levels, which include: The visit held the fifth session of the joint economic committee between the two countries, and a series of meetings were held with a number of ministers and officials in the Uzbek government.
