The UAE Ministry of Economy said in a statement on Sunday that the agreement came during the meeting of the fifth session of the joint economic committee between the two countries in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.
According to the statement, the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, and the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, agreed to exchange information and expertise regarding economic policies and legislation supporting the achievement of the goals of the “We Are the Emirates Vision 2031” and the “Development Strategy of Uzbekistan 2030.”
According to the statement, the two sides expressed their desire to establish an international center for advanced digital technologies in Uzbekistan and to benefit from Emirati expertise in this regard, in a way that enhances the two countries’ vision of expanding into new and digital economic sectors and accelerating the shift towards a knowledge-based economy.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Etihad Export Credit Company and the Uzbek Export and Import Insurance Company (Uzbek Invest) to enhance joint cooperation in the field of export of goods and services and provide insurance support to exporters and financial institutions in the two markets.
A joint cooperation agreement was concluded between the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions Company and the Uzbek Uzbek Usvtaminut Company to accelerate the development of the largest wastewater plant in Tashkent with a production capacity of 1.5 cubic meters per day, which will serve more than three million people.
A few days ago, the Ministry of Investment in the UAE and the Ministry of Digital Technology in Uzbekistan concluded an investment memorandum to enhance investment cooperation in the field of digital infrastructure, with a focus on data centers and artificial intelligence projects in Uzbekistan.
The memorandum aims, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Investment on Friday, to explore and evaluate joint investment opportunities for new data centers in Uzbekistan, which would provide cloud computing and artificial intelligence solutions to institutions in the government and private sectors, in addition to attracting investors and entrepreneurs in the field of cloud services to… Uzbekistan, assessing the potential of supercomputer projects, exploring the development of language models specific to Uzbekistan, creating an advanced local system for talent in the field of artificial intelligence and computing, as well as enhancing cooperation and joint work between the government and private sectors in the two friendly countries.
