“The President of the Republic issues an order naming the Prime Minister and its members,” the Tunisian presidency said on its Facebook page.
The new Tunisian government was sworn in before President Kais Saied at the Carthage Palace.
Commenting on the formation of the new government, Prime Minister Najla Boden said: “We seek to rearrange priorities and restore citizen confidence,” adding: “We seek to restore citizen’s confidence in government work.”
Boden stressed that her government seeks to “restore the confidence of the international community in the Tunisian state,” considering “efficiency and experience the basis for achieving the government’s goals.”
“We seek to improve the living conditions of citizens and open the field for investment,” she added.
Othman Al-Jarandi retained the Tunisian foreign portfolio in the new government, while Tawfiq Sharaf Al-Din was appointed Minister of the Interior, and Imad Mamish was appointed Minister of Defense.
