The first trailer for the animated series inspired by Dead Cells, the roguelite action and platform game, has been released. The series will be called Dead Cells: Immortalis.
The video, which you can find below, is short as it lasts only a minute and collects a series of fragments from the series. The trailer for Dead Cells: Immortalis is in French with English subtitles (to be activated via the YouTube function).
It is created by the same team that takes care of the animated sequences of the video game, Bobbypills. The graphic style of Dead Cells: Immortalis is slightly different, however, probably also because in this case it is necessary to create an entire series and not just small fragments.
Dead Cells: Immortalis will be released on June 19th on the Animation Digital Network streaming platform. It is a French subscription service and for the moment it is not clear when it will be possible to see it in other languages and in other territories.
Dead Cells, what is it about?
Dead Cells puts us in the shoes of a reanimated corpse and it seems that the animated series will bring this character back into the field, accompanied however by a girl who adores him and considers him the Chosen One. A prophecy revealed that such creatures with heads on fire would defeat the king and put an end to a curse. To do this, however, it is necessary to first eliminate the King’s Fingers, a series of powerful warriors. However, the villagers who don’t seem to be big fans of the hero of the moment will also create problems.
The history of the video game however, it is different or rather less clear, as it lacks a real explicit narrative. Furthermore, being a roguelite, we start from scratch every time and only some games try to insert a clear plot that justifies the continuous deaths and rebirths (like Hades)
