Rabdan Academy organized an event for orphan children, as part of the “Together We Prosper” social responsibility initiative, at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent Authority and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, and 15 orphan children between the ages of 5 and 12 participated in it, in the presence of foster families.
The event began with an introductory tour of the Yas Sea World Research and Rescue Centre, the largest center of its kind in the Middle East, specializing in marine animal research, operations, rescue, rehabilitation and release into their natural environment. The children learned about the Center’s efforts to preserve marine life in the country and the region, and learned about the Center’s initiatives to care for, rescue and rehabilitate animals, and conduct research and scientific studies related to them, to enhance efforts to preserve marine life in the region.
Salem Saeed Al Saeedi, Vice President of Rabdan Academy, said: “This event reflects the Academy’s interest in programs to integrate orphans into society, and to support the state’s efforts to provide security and social stability for all groups alike.”
Al-Saidi highlighted the social responsibility initiative “Together We Prosper,” which the Academy launched as part of its strategy for the current year 2024, noting that one of its most important axes is promoting social solidarity and consolidating the principles of charitable work and humanitarian giving.
Al Saeedi thanked the Emirates Red Crescent Authority for its efforts in sponsoring orphans at the local, regional and global levels, in addition to providing them with the necessary services and investing in their energies and creativity. He expressed his appreciation for the role of Miral Company in sponsoring awareness, cultural and recreational activities and programs for orphans and their foster families.
Salem Al Suwaidi, Director of the Red Crescent Center in Abu Dhabi, praised the Rabdan Academy initiative for the benefit of orphans, and its commitment to its societal responsibility in addition to its academic role, and stressed that the Emirates Red Crescent Authority is keen to strengthen its partnership with all sectors of society, to enhance its humanitarian and development programs, and expand the umbrella of beneficiaries of its initiatives. Community initiatives, especially initiatives directed at orphans, stressing that the Authority pays great attention to orphans, mobilizes community support for them and their caregivers, and looks forward to further cooperation with Rabdan Academy in this field.
Thomas Caverley, General Manager of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, said: “We are pleased to welcome Rabdan Academy and the Emirates Red Crescent to this event, as we are honored to host children at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. Our mission is not only to provide entertainment experiences, but also educational and cultural experiences that inspire a deeper appreciation for marine life, and we hope to leave a positive impact on the lives of children through these initiatives, and contribute to their well-being and happiness.”
The event included interactive experiences and games at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, exploring eight different worlds. It is the Abu Dhabi Ocean, the Ocean that brings us together, the Arctic regions, the Antarctic regions, the rocky region, the tropical ocean, the infinite ocean and the ocean of small creatures.
The children set out to discover the wonders of the ocean, watch exciting educational displays of marine animals, and learn about marine life.
Rabdan Academy employees participated in this experience by harnessing their educational skills and experience in implementing a number of interactive activities and innovative games, which contribute to stimulating children’s skills towards creative thinking and developing their abilities by achieving a balance between entertainment and learning.
It is noteworthy that the social responsibility initiative “Together We Prosper” comes within the framework of a comprehensive strategic plan that aims to enhance the academy’s community participation and its effective contribution to the growth and development of society.
