Carlos Alcantara announced that he will be the director of the spin-off of the film Asu mare! one of the highest grossing in Peruvian cinema. Regarding this new facet that the actor begins, we remember his time on television, when he debuted as a conductor along with Laura Huarcayo in the program Lima Limón. At that time, he starred in a tense moment that was recorded in the history of national entertainment.
The incident occurred in 2004. The popular ‘Cachín’ was 39 years old and had already achieved fame thanks to his role in the comedy Patacláun. The Lima Limón program was launched for the first time on the air and the production had opted for the duo of Laura Huarcayo and Carlos Alcántara in the conduction.
Everything was fine until after six months the actor abruptly resigned in full live broadcast. The event stunned viewers because it was an unexpected decision. Apparently, Carlos Alcántara was unhappy with the program.
During a talk show segment called Líos de vecinas, he threw down the lectern where he was acting as judge. He then announced that he was retiring to avoid speculation.

Why did you quit?
As Carlos Alcántara pointed out in an interview, his resignation from Lima Limón was due to the fact that he did not want to “belong to a circus” and the production had promised him that he could show himself as he was in front of the screen, something that for him was not fulfilled. In addition, he mentioned that his attitude was “a consequence of contamination” that he did not tolerate.
Did not return to television
In 2010, Carlos Alcántara revealed that he did not have among his plans to return to television as a host. “I like to be in contact with people and, in that sense, I am interested in driving. Only that I would not accept to work in any type of program because I consider that it is not my thing. Rather, I would like to create a format to work with, ”he said in conversation with RPP.
